Industrial Steam Engines

In our Industrial Hall, we house a large collection of stationary steam engines. Most of these engines are operable and they run three or four times a year at events listed on our calendar. They can also be steamed up by special advance request for a nominal charge. One of our finest examples of industrial steam is the late 1800's Noble T. Greene engine with an impressive 12 foot diameter flywheel. This engine was used for many years to power the Tiffany & Pickett Company wood products mill in Winsted, CT. Also, view our restored C.H. Brown steam engine with its impressive 14' flywheel.
